I will push to end gerrymandering in the state of Indiana by establishing an independent redistricting commission to ensure that districts are drawn to keep communities intact. Voters should pick their elected officials, not the other way around.
Too many Hoosiers are suffering from the current opioid crisis. Narcan is very helpful in preventing unnecessary death, but more resources must be devoted to services preventing addiction itself.
All Hoosiers deserve to earn enough to live. By pushing policies that ensure all families have access to a living wage, the community will be stronger.
- I am a firm believer that all children should have access to a quality Pre-K program. If elected I will push to expand the Pre-K program to all Hoosier families.
- Children should also have access to a strong public education system. The district is blessed to have two great school systems in Lawrence and Fishers, and I want to make sure they continue to receive strong support and funding from the legislature.
- I support adding incentives for renewable energy creation such as solar and wind energy. Not only are these programs good for creating jobs in a new industry, they reduce emissions and protect our environment from pollution.
- We must also do more to protect our waterways and reservoirs from harmful pollution. Indiana consistently ranks as one of the worst states for water pollution, which harms our citizens’ health and hinders our utilities. To combat this, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management needs the proper resources to truly manage the situation.
